Meet Leslie
A consummate servant of the people, the Honorable Leslie Love is a former lawmaker of the Michigan House of Representatives. She served the 10th House District from 2015 until 2020, when she retired due to term limits. Leslie is currently the Assistant Deputy Director for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Metro-Region. In 2021, Ms. Love was appointed Commissioner by Governor Whitmer to the Natural Resources Commission and is the first African-American woman to hold the position. She is also a Precinct Delegate representing Detroit’s 229th precinct.
Legislative Priorities
During her time in the legislature, Leslie was a champion for education, public safety, environmental protection, and economic development. In the U.S. Senate, Leslie will be ready to serve on day one.
